Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? You’re not alone—we’ve got answers.

  • Patients do not need insurance to be a part of our program but it may help to cover costs of any medications that are needed.

  • Getting started is simple! Just contact us through our website or call our office to schedule your initial consultation. During this session, we will assess your health needs and discuss your weight loss goals.

  • Your first consultation will involve a detailed discussion about your medical history, lifestyle, and weight loss objectives. This is also a great time for you to ask any questions you may have. Based on this information, we will begin to tailor a weight loss plan that suits your individual needs.

  • Telehealth services offer the same expert guidance and personalized care as in-person programs, but with the added convenience of accessing our services from anywhere. This is ideal for those with busy schedules or limited access to local healthcare services.

  • Throughout your journey, you will receive continuous support from our team, including regular check-ins with Dr. Vicki Samuels and adjustments to your plan as needed. Our goal is to keep you motivated and on track towards achieving your weight loss goals.

  • Yes, if Dr. Samuels determines that prescription medications are appropriate for your weight loss plan, they can be prescribed as part of our comprehensive care approach.

  • We customize all nutritional plans to accommodate any dietary restrictions you may have, whether they are due to allergies, sensitivities, or personal preferences

  • The duration of the program varies based on your specific needs and goals. During your initial consultation, we will propose a timeline that suits your weight loss objectives and ensures sustainable results.

  • No. Spotlight is a medical weight loss program delivered entirely through telehealth. While telehealth is a great way to deliver medical care, especially medical weight loss, there are some limits to our ability to perform a physical examination, an important component for evaluating overall health.

You will be required to have had a primary care visit in the last 12 months to ensure that you have a recent, complete evaluation of your health.

Spotlight on Weight Loss encourages you to maintain a relationship with a PCP in the event that we identify issues during your weight loss journey that may need additional evaluation or work up.
